The English version of YOASOBI’s “The Blessing” is a fast and cool track, I’m just not a fan of the foggy music video – Leo Sigh

It’s always a good day when we get a new YOASOBI song, and today is that day like YOASOBI’s’The blessing‘, that is to say: the Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch of Mercury opening theme song, was released.

But this time the release is a bit different, in that it’s about YOASOBI’The blessing‘ English version that now adorns my YouTube screen. A version that follows the original Japanese song released a month ago.

Along with this release we also got an animation ‘The blessing‘ music video containing the song’s English lyrics.

A video I didn’t like when it came out a month ago to illustrate the Japanese song, because it’s one of those fuzzy, blurry artsy-fartsy things that hurt my eyes.

And no, it’s not better, even accompanied by YOASOBI’s phenomenal English song.

by YOASOBI’The blessingThe English version is an extremely cool thing though.

With lyrics like “Don’t be part of those pictures that someone paints / Don’t step forward in this show, chosen by someone else / You and me, allied to write our story / Never let you be alone and go your own way“.

Plus, the track itself is so fast and upbeat, and vocalist Ikura’s voice is, as usual, stellar, it’s yet another YOASOBI track that makes you want to dance.

by YOASOBI’The blessing‘, of course, is just one of many English-language songs the popular Japanese pop duo have released in recent years. Like, unlike some other Japanese artists, they seem to realize that their international fanbase is only growing, and a lot of that fanbase loves English songs.

No wonder they continue to be so successful, huh?

The track is also one of many others to be released on November 18 when the duo’s latest EP E side 2containing all songs in English, should be dropped.

Meanwhile, the Japanese version of ‘The blessing‘ now honors the opening of the new anime series Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch of Mercury.

The new mecha series itself is currently streaming via Crunchyroll.

Watch now the brand new YOASOBI’s ‘The blessing‘ English version of the music video, enjoy this exciting song and see if you don’t love its hazy art style as much as I do.
