Srirangam Tamil Nadu English teacher arrested for sexually harassing student

Murugesan, who worked as an English teacher at a public school in Srirangam, Tamil Nadu, was arrested for sexually harassing a class 12 student while she was taking an exam.

Murugesan was arrested under POCSO law for sexually harassing a class 12 student in Srirangam in Tamil Nadu.

An English teacher, working at a government school in Srirangam, Tamil Nadu, has been arrested for sexually harassing a class 12 student while she was taking an exam.

The student said Murugesan, who worked as an English teacher at Hajyar Muhammad Yusuf Public School in Inam Kalathur, behaved inappropriately towards her while she was taking an exam.

The child didn’t realize what had happened at first, but when she got home she was shocked and told her parents.

Nearly 500 villagers gathered in front of the school and protested, which led the authorities to reach the school.

After that, Inam Kalathur police conducted an investigation of the student and her classmates. Based on this, the police arrested Murugesan under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO).

Further investigations are ongoing.
