The earthquake took place around 9:30 a.m. and was located 10 kilometers underground. The epicenter was 151 km west northwest of Kargil. “A magnitude 4.3 earthquake occurred 64 km WNW of Kargil, Ladakh at around 9:30 a.m. The depth of the earthquake was 10 km below ground,” NCS said in a tweet.
No loss of life or property was reported after the earthquake.
