House in Perinthalmanna celebrates tradition, minimalism | lifestyle decor

Sasi Sankar has built his brand new home near his ancestral home in the serene countryside of Perinthalmanna in Malappuram. After living in many places due to his work, the owner wanted to settle in a simple but elegant house to enjoy his retirement life.

The house stands in the center of a plot surrounded by lush vegetation. Moreover, the structure features the traditional architectural style that never fails to impress. The old tiles from the ancestral house have been reused on the sloping roof. This lends a rustic charm to exteriors.

The interiors exude the beautiful grace of a minimal style that fills the spaces with incredible ambiance. There are no brighter colors or design gimmicks that spoil the elegance of spaces.

Designed on 2000 square feet, this amazing abode features a porch, sitting, living and dining areas, a kitchen with a work area, four bedrooms and an upper living area.

The house was designed with the utmost importance of an abundant supply of cool breezes and natural light. In addition, there is also perfect cross ventilation. Many windows and double-height spaces ensure a pleasant atmosphere inside the house. The double-height spaces, on the other hand, act as links between the two floors in addition to making the interiors more expansive.

Rustic gray finish tiles have been paved on the floor. Most of the furniture is designed as built-in pieces made of cement coated slabs. In the living room, cushions have been covered to make it comfortable and elegant.

Interestingly, the sitting on one side of the dining room was designed as part of a bay window.

The staircase acts as a partition that separates the living and dining areas. The handrails, on the other hand, are made of MS with paint finish. Attaching the sink to the stairs is a unique idea that also saves space.

There are two bedrooms on the ground floor while two more are on the upper floor. The bedrooms have windows opening onto the greenery outside.

The kitchen cabinets are constructed of plywood with micro finish. The counter, meanwhile, was paved with granite.

The construction of this fabulous abode including structure and furnishings was completed with an affordable budget of Rs 45 lakh. It’s pretty user-friendly compared to skyrocketing construction costs these days.
