If you like to start your day with a full English breakfast, head north for the best value. Leeds is the place to be on a budget and the city emerged as the most affordable city to eat the real deal, with an average price of £8.28.

The West Yorkshire destination offered the cheapest full English breakfast for £5.50. It also listed the second cheapest at £7.45, according to research by CasinoGuide.co.uk.

Birmingham has become the most expensive place to experience fried food from restaurants in England’s five largest cities. Brum’s average price of £11.54 makes it even more expensive than London, with the heaviest bill coming in at £13, which is also the highest price on the list.

London is no exception. The average cost of a full English breakfast in the capital is £11.33, with the most expensive being £12.50 in rated restaurants.

Southampton is the second most affordable city with an average cost of £9.09, with the cheapest breakfast being £7.50 and the most expensive being £9.95. Manchester was the third most affordable with an average price of £10.30.

A spokesperson for CasinoGuide.co.uk said: “A full English breakfast usually costs around £5, usually going up to around £20. We used Google and Google reviews for this research as we believe only the most highly reviewed and visited restaurants are relevant to this type of research.

“It wouldn’t make sense to add a restaurant like the Savoy Grill, even if it’s famous, if most ordinary people don’t eat breakfast there.”
